There was a very big tropical storm that passed through Haiti in 2015 and was very destructive to the many houses that were not made of cement. After the storm passed there was a mom that came to our gate with her 2 children and her nephew and told us that her house was underwater and she lost everything and there was no way she could take care of these children and asked if we would take care of them so that she could try to rebuild her life after she lost everything. Nika and Guiibenson were 2 years old and Michelson was 3 years old.

Michelson has settled in very well.  He loves going to school, he loves to watch movies with the kids and play soccer.
