Laurie and her twin brother Wayne were delivered at home in Lagonave, which is an island next to Carries.

Mom did not know she was pregnant with 2 babies, she died right after delivery. Dad believes she died of starvation as she did not eat much during her pregnancy.  She left a husband and 6 children.  She was 35 years old when she passed away.

An aunt brought them to the orphanage when they were only 24 hours old.  They are doing well and are happy little children.  Laurie is a quiet soul, while her brother is outgoing.  Laurie loves to play with the younger children and she loves dolls.  She goes to Kindergarten and loves school.
